Emerald Waterways has non-refundable and non-transferable deposits. To allow some flexibility for our guests, we offer a Deposit Protection Plan on your deposit before your final payment is due.
Deposit Protection Plan Benefits:
With our Deposit Protection Plan, you’ll be able to:
- Enjoy flexibility to change your departure date if a conflicting or unexpected event comes up
- Cancel your booking entirely in the event you or your travel partner become unable to travel
- Ease possible risk on your deposit payment if you anticipate life changes between confirming your vacation deposit and final payment due
What Is it?
The Deposit Protection Plan (DPP) is a form of coverage offered by Emerald Waterways on our European and Southeast Asian River Cruises. The plan protects the deposit amount paid on an Emerald Waterways cruise prior to the final payment due date. To participate in this program, the cost is $125 per person CAD and must be paid with the deposit on the Deposit Due Date.
Our Deposit Protection Plan is non-refundable and non-transferable and cannot be added past the Deposit Due Date. The Deposit Protection Plan only covers Cruise or Tour deposit, it does not cover Air deposits.
How Does it Work?
When guests chooses to cancel, or change their cruise departure date for any reason prior to the final payment due date as per the terms and conditions, the value of the Deposit Protection Plan paid will be charged as a fee as well as any third-party supplier fees such air travel (but not limited to). The remainder of the deposit will be credited towards an alternative tour or cruise to be booked within 24 months of the cancellation. The Deposit Protection Plan does not, nor does it intend to replace travel insurance and this is still highly recommended.
