Day 1 | Highlights:
Located on the French Riviera in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Nice is blessed by a sunny, temperate climate. This famous destination has been attracting visitors from around the world for decades. Today you will check into your hotel, and in the evening you will meet your Tour Director and fellow passengers and enjoy a delightful dinner. Included is a three night stay in Nice.
Day 2 | Nice Highlights:
Nice, the capital of the Côte d’Azur, is beautifully curved round the Bay of Angels, desirable and as lively as you like. In the morning enjoy free time to explore on own, and in the afternoon we will take you to Monte Carlo for a guided tour, where you will learn about the jet set life in Monaco.

Today enjoy your day at leisure in Nice; your tour director is at your service to help you plan your day in this vibrant city.

Day 4 | Nice – Arles Embarkation Highlights:
Today you will be transferred to your Emerald Waterways luxury ship where you will be welcomed by your Captain and crew. Tonight enjoy a welcome reception and dinner on board.
Day 5 | Arles Highlights:
Join your local guide for a walking tour showcasing the highlights of the city in particular the exterior of the 2000 year old Roman Amphitheatre still in use today, which was originally built to hold 20,000 spectators in the style of the Colosseum in Rome.
Day 6 | Avignon Highlights:
Avignon has a rich history from Celtic beginnings to being the residence of the Popes and later central to the French Revolution. Although a fortified town, it is the Papal Palace which stands more secure on a hill in the centre of town; its walls are 17–18 feet thick. Your walk with a local guide takes you through this historic centre strolling the cobbled laneways and browsing the shops, overlooking the famous 'Pont d’Avignon'

Day 7 | Tournon Highlights:
Join your local guide for a walking tour of Tournon, which is dominated by the 16th century castle and roman ruins, and is nestled in the valley near the steep slopes of le Massif Central, France's 3rd largest mountain range. The area has a long tradition in wine making, including the renowned wine growing centre of Tain l'Hermitage across the river.

Day 8 | Macon Highlights:
Your walking tour includes the sights of the General Hospital buildings, half–timbered houses and the Soufflot Chapel. Macon is a great destination to try some local wines at the many tasting displays in the town. Enjoy time at leisure in the afternoon.

Day 9 | Chalon-Sur-Saone – Beaune Highlights:
Chalon–Sur–Saone is best known as the birthplace of photography and the centre of Burgundy’s wine region. Travel by road to the quaint village of Beaune, where we visit the Hospices de Beaune, one of the finest examples of French fifteenth–century architecture. Marvel at the multi–coloured roofs of this former hospital, now a museum, which has become one of the symbols of Burgundy. Return to the ship for lunch, and depart this afternoon for Lyon arriving in the evening.
Day 10 | Lyon Highlights:
Lyon is France’s third largest city, a former Roman capital positioned at the conference of the Rhone and Saone rivers, which is steeped in history. Today take part on the guided tour of Lyon, which starts with a drive to the Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere, Lyon’s hilltop church, with stunning views over the town. Then pass by the recently re–discovered Roman amphitheatre and walk through the cobbled streets of the gastronomic old town including the secret laneways.
Day 11 | Lyon Disembarkation - Paris Highlights:
After breakfast disembark your river cruise ship in Lyon and transfer by train to Paris, the city of light. This exuberant city is also known as the city of love, for its romantic atmosphere. Stroll through the boulevards, passing by the bridges to the Eiffel Tower as it lights up at night. Later this evening, join your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a cocktail and dinner. Included is a two night stay in Paris.
Day 12 | Paris Highlights:
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Europe’s crowing city on a guided tour that passes by landmarks such as Notre Dame Cathedral and the Arc de Triomphe. Continue exploring on a Seine River cruise that ends at the iconic Eiffel Tower.
Day 13 | Paris – Farewell Highlights:
After breakfast transfer to Airport for your onward or homebound flight.
